Chace Crawford is getting 'Footloose'
Chace Crawford recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly magazine to talk about starring the 80's remake of Footloose.
On his audition for the role: "I want my number to be up- myBacon number. It was, like, five hours of the most rigorous tests ever. I walked out very confident."
On taking the role after Zac Efron stepped away: "I know Zac and we're actually friends. He's gotta make the best choice for his career at this point and I have to make the best for mine and luckily it worked out for both of us."
On going through 'Kenny Ortega boot camp': "I don't know if the gymnastics (high bar) scene is going to make it. I've got some movement in me, but I'm not a dancer. I need to start stretching now."
Singer and dancer Julianne Hough will screen-test this week.

Vanessa Hudgens: 'Sucker Punch' ready
So it's rumored, just not officially announced, but can not-so-goody-two shoes actress Vanessa Hudgens pull off the role of a hard worked girl called Blondie.
Our verdict: Yes.
The rest of the cast is rumored to conclude of Evan Rachel Wood, Abbie Cornish & Emma Stone. Mamma Mia! star Amanda Seyfried recently dropped out. The movie is set to be directed by Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen).
PS: Vanessa & Amanda bonded at this years 81st Academy Awards (Oscars), they both performed in the Musical Medley directed by Baz Luhrman and hosted by Hugh Jackman, along with Zac Efron, Beyonce, Dominic Cooper and Hugh himself.
Vanessa has also worked with Evan Rachel Wood on the 2003 teenage-hit, Thirteen.
UPDATE: Wood, Seyfried and Stone have dropped out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. The movie will instead star Emily Browning (Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events, Uninvited) as the lead.
No 'Footloose' For Zefron
Remember the days, when it was rumored that Zac Efron would be the main choice to star in the 2010 remake of 80's hit Footloose... Yeah, that's over.
The 21-year-old acotr had dropped out. To no suprise, but to some, he doesn't want to do musicals for the rest of his life! -gasp- But we can't blame him. High School Musical was obviously already enough of a billion dollar earning franchise to keep him famous. But with 17 Again, and Me And Orson Welles out later in the year, he's sure to keep up his status.
We just feel sorry Kenny Ortega, yes, the 'Genious of a HSM Mastermind', he was all set to direct the Zefron to the screen again. But production is still going underway, new actors trying out for the role of the lovely and adorable Ren McCormack. Rumor has it, Chace Crawford is up for calls... shh.
